Alan has 25 years of experience as a speaker and seminar leader, creative director and consultant in fundraising. He worked in house for a national UK charity before founding his own London based agency, which he exited in 2010. He has developed our 'Great Fundraising' programme over the last decade and has worked with over 350 clients worldwide. He also supports and invests in private sector start-ups or growing companies that supply the fundraising world.
Jayne is our director of fundraising consulting. She joined us after ten years as director of fundraising and marketing at Guide Dogs in the UK where she achieved 692% growth in fundraised income. Prior to that she held a leadership role at RNLI. In her spare time, Jayne chairs the board of a local charity. Jayne works both internally to continually develop our team, and directly with the most ambitious of fundraising clients.
Morag is our head of consultancy in Scotland and our database and compliance expert across the group. Prior to her current consulting career, Morag was Head of Fundraising at Quarriers, where she led individual giving income from £34,000 to £1,100,000 annually (yes, that’s an increase of 3,200% … but it was effectively a start up!). Morag is also chair of the Institute of Fundraising in Scotland.
Our group creative director is Dave Sturdy. Prior to joining ACA, Dave spent 17 years as a founding director and shareholder of Bristol based agency Different Kettle and has worked on dozens of successful charity, non-profit and NGO accounts internationally. He has provided the concepts and visual execution of many of ACA’s most powerful campaigns and brands. Dave has won many advertising and marketing awards, but never loses focus on the money which changes lives; the true purpose of powerful fundraising communications.
Kerry has raised vast amounts of money at Diabetes UK and working with Alan at WSPA. Kerry is managing director of our London agency, Revolutionise, and specialises in the 'What's next?' implementation and planning for Great Fundraising clients.
Malene is a director of ACA and in charge of our research, knowledge and learning programmes. Malene founded the Norwegian arm of voluntary sector consultancy Ingerfair, and also worked with Profundo, Norway’s fundraising agency, before moving to Scotland and joining ACA. Malene backs up our highly experienced consulting and creative teams. Her third sector handbooks are published in Danish and Norwegian.
Professor Adrian Sargeant
Adrian is Chief Executive of The Philanthropy Centre. Formerly the first Hartsook Chair in Fundraising at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, Adrian is passionate about achieving massive growth in philanthropy. All his work is focussed on achieving that by developing the value that donors get from their giving. He specialises in the new science of philanthropic psychology, a science that is routinely doubling the income for those charities that apply it.
Professor Jen Shang
Professor Jen Shang is a philanthropic psychologist and director of research at the Hartsook Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy. She specialises in making link between academic research and professional practice, and her work increases fundraising by enhancing the donor experience. Jen is also an author of the Great Fundraising research.
Behind the Scenes
Pam is responsible for great events at the Inch, ensuring each delegate is equipped for the full “Inch Experience”. Hailing from a fundraising background, she has organised many successful events for the charities with whom she worked. A true “people-person”, Pam is our main point of contact for the practical running of all Inch courses and seminars
John is our Finance Director and IT expert. John manages systems and procedures across the group.
